Have you been lucky enough to receive an Olympic Flag ticket through your door?

If you have, it will read as follows:

Congratulations! You're a winner!

You have been chosen by Swale Borough Council to be part of the Olympic flag relay. You are one of just 200 people, chosen at random, to participate in the 'Olympic Flag Relay'.

On 24 August, when Beijing handed the Olympic Flag over to London, every Council was given an Olympic flag to celebrate the four-year period in the run-up to the London 2012 Games. And thanks to a great Council-backed arts project you have been given a piece of Swale's Olympic flag, and our relay has begun.

We are asking you to either:

Return your piece of Swale's Olympic flag in person to artist Paula Trower, who will be at 34 High Street, Sittingbourne on Saturday 11 July 2009 between the hours of 11am and 3pm.

or

If you are unable to attend, please sign and date your piece of Swale's Olympic flag. Your signature will recognise your participation in the event. Then hand these instructions and the piece of the flag to a neighbour, friend or relative who can attend the event on the day.

In return for completing your leg of the relay, we will enter you into a draw and the winner will receive £200. The winner will be announced the same day and contacted by the Council in writing to confirm their prize.

On your arrival to the venue, you will have the opportunity to have your photograph portrait taken, to celebrate those who took the trouble to bring the flag back together again.

Thank you in anticipation for joining in with this fun event that celebrates the forthcoming Olympics and Paralympics.

I look forward to seeing you on 11 July!
